2020 has presented a reality that none of us could have planned for. The landscape of college athletics is altered, maybe well into the future, and the Huskies are not immune from the implications. We face unforeseen expenses and unprecedented losses in revenue. Yet, our work continues to focus on keeping our student-athletes safe, allowing them to train and compete, and providing for the first-class academic and athletic experience we are all so proud of.

This summer, difficult decisions were made regarding reductions to the athletics operating budget and the natural rhythm of our revenue streams was impacted with the cancellation of fall sports and interruptions to winter sports.

In the months since, we have trimmed budgets across all sports, carefully analyzed staffing, and operated as nimbly and flexibly as we can to meet the challenges we face.  Our environment may have changed, but our mission has not. We need every supporter, season ticket holder, former Husky, and fan in UConn Nation to join us and Fight On.

How You Can Help

UConn Athletics has established the Fight on Fund to provide a direct, immediate avenue to support our student-athletes and coaches and to help UConn Athletics strategically navigate the uncertain road ahead.

Donations made to the Fight on Fund will go toward academic support, sports medicine, scholarship support, nutrition, COVID testing and mental health services, as well as help bridge the gap in operational resources.

The Fight on Fund is an unrestricted current-use fund, which means that gifts in support of our effort to fight on can be applied when and where they are most needed. This flexibility is key in today’s environment as the landscape is ever-changing, to continue to protect our top priorities for our student-athletes including their health, well-being, and the overall experience.
